COMPANY SOLO/DUET/TRIO
If you are interested in being considered for a Solo/Duet/Trio, this form needs to be filled out on or before your Audition (June 22nd or 23rd). This will help us evaluate and watch the dancers work ethic, attitude, and technique firsthand during their audition. Being a Solo/Duet/Trio dancer is an honor and we want to make sure we select only those who are 100% committed to representing Premiere in one of these roles. These dancers are expected to go above and beyond the Company line requirements. We ask that everyone read the following information before making any decisions.
SOLO/DUET/TRIO SCHEDULING/COST: Solo/Duet/Trio Rehearsals will be scheduled in half hour private lesson slots throughout the season. All Solo/Duet/Trio Private Lessons will be $33/half hour and you will be assigned a time slot and allowed to schedule as many or as few rehearsals as you wish. We will schedule the S/D/T rehearsals to fit the needs of the dancer as well as the teacher.
Dancers that have an outside choreographer or a choreography session with an in house choreographer- will have a fee up front for the cost of choreography and then schedule 1/2 hour rehearsals in addition to that. Choreography sessions can run anywhere from $200-$900.
ALL ACCOUNTS must be current in order for us to consider you for a Solo/Duet/Trio.
COSTUMES: There are several options for costumes for our Solo/Duet/Trio Dancers. Once music has been selected, we will send you a list of options on whether you would like a custom costume, previously owned costume, catalog costume, etc. After we know your budget and ideas we will guide you in finding or creating your costume. Costumes that are custom made can run anywhere from $250-$700. For all costumes we will work within your budget to provide great options!
COMPETITION FEES: Solo Competition fees this year will be a set price of $145 for each competition. This will cover the cost of admin fees, registrations, critiques, staffing etc. Duet and Trio Competition Fees are structured differently (typically $50-80 per dancer for each competition) as some competitions bill per dancer and some bill per entry. You will be required to attend the 3 regional competitions that Premiere attends as an entire studio and you will also be offered additional options if you wish. (Please note that convention fees may run differently if you decide to participate in any of those)
MEDIA FEES: Some competitions will require you to participate in their media package. For a small fee per dancer (usually $25-35) you will receive all photos and videos for all dances your dancer participated in. These fees are in addition to their competition fees.
INTENSIVES AND CONVENTIONS: All dancers will be encouraged to attend at least one additional in house Intensive or one Convention throughout the season. We will offer several options for these and info will be sent out at the beginning of the season! Conventions are a great way to push yourself as a dancer and expand your knowledge and technique.
SELECTIONS: We will be very selective in choosing our solo/duet/trio dancers, especially for those that are new to the experience. Company Line Audition Results will go on or before July 8th. Solo, Duet, Trio selections will not be sent out until mid-August.
OTHER COMMITMENTS: If you are committed to other after school activities, we can not guarantee that we can schedule your solo/duet/trio rehearsals during the weekdays. Typically dancers in after school activities are not available until after 6:00PM, and at that time our studios and teachers are booked. We can not schedule all of these dancers after regular classes (from 9:30-10:00PM). You may have to have rehearsals with staff on weekends. Dancers will not be considered for multiple solos if they have other athletic or extracurricular commitments.
CONTRACT: If chosen you will be required to sign a contract that outlines all of the above information. This is just information for everyone to decide if this is the right commitment for them or not.
PLEASE NOTE: this information is preliminary info to give you an idea of the upfront costs and commitment. As we start our planning next season details, costs, schedules could potentially differ from what is listed above but all info will be communicated to you prior to the start of the season.
